Point Grey masters had strong results and will use this year's experience  to build a stronger team for the 2013 Canadian Cross Country Championships

Open 5km Event - Bev Barnes of Point Grey ran her first  cross country race ever and finished first in her age group in 26:06.

Masters 8km Event - The men's race was won by Steve Boyd of  Ontario in 26:06 while, Kevin O'Connor finished second in 26:27. Kevin has been training with the Point Grey men's team who are coached by Richard Lee. Carey Nelson finished 13th in 28:08 and Rob Watt was 37th in 31:13;  both training with Point Grey and UBC coach Marek Jedrzejek's group . The master women's race was won by Catherine Watkins who occasionally does speedwork with the Point Grey club as well. Point Grey is looking for more masters runners to build a team for next year's event. We need four per age group to score points for the team awards.

Point Grey Masters are training for the Kajaks Steveston Ice Breaker 8km race  January 27, 2013.
